Artist's Note: I love creating art on a variety of topics, some which are made solely because I felt like drawing them at the moment, but the ones currently on display in this gallery are the ones that carry a special meaning and concept behind them.
As an artist, I hope you have a lovely scroll through the art. Cheers.
Still a Man
Harry Styles graced the cover of Vogue December 2020 in a fluffy grey gown. But, more than the dress or the man himself, it was the fact that a man was wearing a dress that drew the most criticism. Calling the situation unmanly and demanding the return of "manly men."
This artwork was made to honor freedom of expression. To 'be a man,' you don't have to dress a certain way. You don't have to like only a few things to be considered manly. Show your feelings, be vulnerable, dress however you want, watch whatever you want, and engage in activities that make you joyful regardless of how distant they are from your gender norms.

Art in Isolation
As artists, we get inspiration from our surroundings: things, people, the sky, flowers, struggles, and emotions.
Our art is greatly influenced by everything we see every day, but we often find ourselves on our own when it comes to creating. The process of making that art takes place alone, crouched over a desk, surrounded by our own thoughts.
Art inspired by the world, art created in isolation.

What's in the Name?
IFP gave to us a simple brief: "Alternate History," asking us to create art that asked, "What if an incident had occurred differently in the past?"
I therefore envisioned what the world would be like if the Indian caste system had never been established in this make-believe setting.
Not divided by caste anymore, everyone would have the same opportunities. What they could do would depend entirely on their skills, effort, and merit, not on the surname they were born into.
Thus, the crossed out surnames in the school yearbook, replaced with what they can achieve in the future when given the same opportunities.

What Goes on in My Mind?
An artwork created for mental health awareness month.
An illustration that depicts what all goes inside my head; art, work, the fear of the future, anxiety of the unknown, pains of an autoimmune disease, nitpicking my own words, deadlines, food, things that don't quite make sense, and a whole lot of colourful mess.
A mess, but a beautiful part of us.

A Helping Hand to the Healer
In many cultures, nature is offered utmost respect and it is believed that humans and the elements of nature depend on each other. Gratitude and prayers are offered to nature because it is the ultimate healer and provider. So, when the ultimate healer is in a state of damage, it is about time we gather ourselves up and help the healer get better, a pinky promise to be better humans, to be kinder to ourselves and our shared home. We still have the time, there's still hope, only if we take actions right at this moment.
A Slow Afternoon
The hustle culture and continuously being on the grind is a great motivator, but it has led to many of us never finding that tranquil time in our life where we sit and enjoy the world go by, take in the intricacies around us, and feel grateful for being alive and well.
An artwork that honors the simple life; a Sunday afternoon
Doing laundry, making a recipe you wanted to try out after eating take-out all week, doing your little hobby and catching up with your comfort show that you have watched 10 times already. An afternoon that might not be the most productive but it's the fuel for your soul.

Homesickness & The Holidays
Homesickness can strike even while you're living your greatest life away from home. Everything may be going exactly as you had hoped, but you may still feel a sting in your chest as you recall the warmth of your room back home.
And the emotion gets even deeper into your chest over the holidays.
An artwork depicting the emotion of homesickness, of being alone during the holidays, when even the dorm room where you have spent days laughing and conversing with your roommates for hours might feel foreign due to the holiday silence.

Indian Meets the West
A Western and Indian aesthetic fusion. An artwork that combines elements from Madhubani paintings from the Indian state of Bihar with the Western art form, Art Nouveau.
All Seasons
For a class project where we were to design a scarf for Hermes, I wanted to make something that was against the rapidly shifting fashion seasons and their consequences on the environment. I attempted this by employing four different flowers that bloom during each season to represent the four seasons:
Orchid (spring), Chrysanthemum (autumn), Peony (summer) & Plum Blossom (winter)
A look that endures, is beautiful and wearable for years to come, and is unaffected by the week-by-week drastic shifts in fashion trends.

Near Year, 3000
As part of their 7 days illustration challenge, IFP gave us a theme: create an art piece imagining a new year's party in the year 3000!
I wanted to imagine a future that is technologically advanced but also very hopeful, because that's something that can't be replaced by any technology. I created various possibilities for the future while at the same time, having a positive outlook that we will use these technologies for the better, a better quality of life and a kinder world, and to always stay hopeful, hence the hopeful look in the boy's eyes.
